I remember when the far right stuff was comforting. They told me that I wasn’t the cause of all my problems, it was (insert minority here). But really, I was just desperate and miserable. And once I got my life together, met my wife and got a good job, I wasn’t miserable. And I realized all their resentment and outrage seemed very performative. The hardest part was leaving people behind. Thank you for this series. It makes me feel less alone.

Maybe one day Usha Vance will reach a similar epiphany, despite her elite education she seems a bit self-deluded…..I know many Indian-Americans, a few in my family as well, and I’ve come to realize anyone of any race, culture, gender, education level etc. can be subject to and fall for propaganda and brainwashing. MAGA is a cult and I don’t think I’m being hyperbolic.

He seems like a nice, reflective young man. I’m glad he found his way out of MAGA. I think we can’t underestimate how much far-right propaganda has destroyed societal bonds. We must all fiercely protect truth. I appreciate these stories.
